The Evelyn Hooker Awards Program
for Research on Lesbian, Gay, and Bisexual Issues

The American Psychological Foundation supports scientific research on issues of concern to lesbians, gay men, and bisexual people through the Evelyn Hooker Awards Program. The APF Evelyn Hooker Programs are a testament to Dr. Evelyn Hooker, whose groundbreaking research in the 1950s provided some of the first empirical evidence that homosexuality is not inherently associated with psychopathology.
